On the occasion of the car-safari expedition called "the tracks of the Serbian army in World War I", and marking 100 years since the beginning of the First World War and 70 years since the liberation of Nis in World War II, President of Municipality of Palilula in Niš Boban Džunić talked with Vlasta Stanojević , President of the "Safari Club Nis”. On this occasion they talked about the program and the contents of the route of the expedition and the inclusion of Palilula in the implementation of the program, which is implemented under the auspices of the City of Nis and the support of the Tourist Organization of Niš.

In the municipality of Palilula, in positions of Selicevica the final fight took place in the First World War for the liberation of Nis. First Serbian Army, under the command of General Petar Bojovic, on 10th of October 1914, attacked the mountain Seličevica. After very heavy fighting near Nis, where the Austro-Germans undertook unsuccessful counter-attacks for several times, Serbian troops captured Selicevica, according to notes of general Petar Pesic (Salonika front, Belgrade, 1921, p. 4956). In this war, conducted from 1914 to 1918, which claimed many lives and economically destroyed Serbia, there was the largest cavalry of Serbian army and Serbian part of the people who walk through Albania withdrew to Greece, where there were punching of "the Salonika front," and then arrived in Serbia. From this period in the settlement Delijski vis of Palilula there is the old military graveyard- kind of memorial park, where they buried Serbian soldiers in the Balkan Wars, the First World War ... One part of the cemetery was set aside and it seems it is the British Commonwealth military cemetery, where there were buried British soldiers killed in the First World War, said the president of Municipality of Palilula Boban Džunić.

According to Stanojević, everything is ready for the start of the expedition. As previously announced, it will start on time on Monday, July 28th at 09:00 am from the "King Milan"   Square.
